On a day of exclusivity and prestige, JAC Motors, a leading global automobile brand, officially partnered with Tryton Motors Limited as its distributor in Ghana on August 23, 2024.
The event, attended by industry leaders and dignitaries, featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony marking the official opening of the new dealership.
Mr Bruce Zhao, Sales Manager, South-West Africa of JAC Group, was present to grace the occasion, in his remarks he said, “With our presence in over 130 countries and nearly 10 million customers, we saw an 18% increase in 2023 sales to 592,500 units and a 60% rise in exports to 250,000 units.
"Building on nearly two decades of success in Africa, we are expanding into Ghana through our new partnership with Tryton Motors Ltd.”
He further expressed gratitude for the collaboration and highlighted JAC’s upcoming 60th anniversary in October 2024.
Mr. Jihad Hijazi, CEO of Tryton Motors, stated that the partnership with JAC is built on shared values of practicality, learning, and innovation.
He announced that Tryton Motors will offer a broad range of JAC vehicles, including trucks, multi-functional commercial vehicles, SUVs, passenger cars, spare parts, and aftersales support, all tailored to various needs and preferences.
In his remarks, he noted, “JAC's offerings are designed to be reliable, affordable, and equipped with the latest technologies, reflecting our commitment to continuous innovation,” and hinted at future developments in the Electric Vehicle segment.
The event culminated with the unveiling of the new JAC offerings. Within the passenger vehicle category, Tryton Motors Ltd. unveiled the JAC JS2, JS4, and JS6 line of SUVs, each offering distinct features tailored to different preferences.
The JAC JS2, equipped with a 1.5-litre Gasoline Turbo i-Variable Valve Timing (VVT) engine, is an entry-level SUV that combines compact efficiency with comfort, style, and practicality for everyday driving, delivering exceptional quality and value at an unbeatable price.
The JAC JS4, a modern mid-sized SUV, thick and sturdy, also features a robust 1.5-liter Gasoline Turbo i-variable Valve Timing (VVT) engine.
The stylish mid-range SUV offers a sleek design, advanced intelligent safety features, spacious interiors, and modern connectivity options all at a competitive price within its segment.
The JAC JS6, the flagship SUV within our market, is equipped with a 1.5-liter Turbocharged Gasoline Direct injection (T-GDI) engine.
The 6- 6-speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) is designed for those who seek a blend of performance, luxury, and comfort, featuring a Modular Intelligence Structure and futuristic Sci-Fi designs to enhance every journey.
All the models within this category come with automatic transmissions for added convenience.
In the light commercial segment, Tryton Motors unveiled the JAC T8 and the T9 pick-up range. The JAC T8 is a robust Double Cabin, 4x4 Pick-Up designed to excel on Ghanaian roads.
It features a powerful 2.0-liter Common Rail, Turbo Intercooler Diesel Engine and a 6-speed manual transmission.
Positioned as the "Easy Life, Easy Job," the JAC T8 is available in two trims: the N4 Luxury and the N3 Intermediate. Both trims are crafted with premium leather and fabric seats respectively for maximum comfort and offer ample passenger space.
