Media personality Cynthia Tima Yeboah, widely known as Tima Kumkum, has revealed that she has been the sole caretaker of all her children for the past 14 years.

The revelation came while she was reminiscing about the difficult periods in her career and marriage on Joy Prime’s Changes show.

During the interview with Nikki Samonas, Tima Kumkum stated that she struggled to care for her second child alone after divorcing her husband, while she was also still building her career.

“For 14 years, I’ve been the one paying their school fees, taking care of them, shelter, clothes and everything. So if I’ve not been able to even finish building my house, it’s because of my kids,” she said.

Asked where her ex-husband was at the time and why she had to juggle everything by herself, the Adom TV presenter replied, “He was around the world. I always say it anyway, not because I’m disgracing him. I’ll never do that because he’s the father of my kids, but he hasn’t been involved with my kids.”

According to her, her first child has completed JHS and is about to continue to SHS, while her second child is currently in JHS 2 and will be moving on to SHS in two years. She said all their expenses have been solely her responsibility.

As a mother of three, Tima Kumkum said she never gave up on herself or her children. Instead, she remained strong and persevered for the sake of her kids.

Reflecting on the difficulties she has faced in her career and marriage, Tima Kumkum is set to host an all-women conference, “Be Inspired by Tima Women’s Conference 2026”, themed “Turning Pain into Purpose”.

The conference seeks to inspire and support young women facing similar emotional, mental and physical challenges. The event will feature speakers with lived experiences, including suicide prevention advocate Gloria Boatemaa Andoh, entrepreneur Maame Joe, and burns survivor and globally recognised advocate Judith Cato Addison, alongside an engaging panel discussion.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, 12 September 2026, at Villa Vista, East Legon, ahead of Tima’s birthday celebration on 17 September.

Other notable personalities expected to be involved include General Overseer of Faithway International Chapel, Pastor Selina; Mrs Mary Amoah Kuffour, Founder of Klicks Foundation; and Mrs Naa Joe Bechem, CEO of RJ’s Events & More and Proprietor of The Beechams Montessori.

The “Be Inspired by Tima Women’s Conference” promises honest conversations and practical life lessons from women who have turned adversity into purpose.
