Stephen Asamoah-Boateng, the Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Environment has urged communities to involve Members of Parliament in the planning and execution of development projects.
This would enable MPs to follow up on such projects to the necessary quarters, he said.
Interacting with the electorate in a programme dubbed, "MPs Forum" at Mankessim, Mr Asamoah-Boateng who is the MP for Mfantseman West advised community leaders to invite their representatives in Parliament to their meetings whenever they needed them for discussions.
"Communities which accuse their MPs for not paying them regular visits are those who do not involve them in their programmes", he noted.
Mr Asamoah-Boateng who explained government policies and programmes assured the people that the requests by chiefs and the Mfantseman District Assembly for the upgrading of the District to a Municipal status was receiving attention.
The Minister said plans for the construction of a new market complex at Mankessim and the development of the roundabout were on course and appealed to the people to exercise restraint.
The Minister announced that four roads in the town had been put on tender for gravelling and expressed the hope that the traffic jam at the market square would be a thing of the past when they were completed.
Robert Quainoo-Arthur, District Chief Executive (DCE), appealed to the people to co-operate with the law enforcement agencies to flush out criminals who had invaded the town.
"You are living with these criminals, you know them but do not want to expose them, therefore there is nothing that the law enforcing agents can do", the DCE stated.
The Electricity Company of Ghana was called upon to stick to its load management schedule in the area to curtail the rampant unannounced power outage in the District.
