Three institutions on Tuesday donated items to the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) to support its Journalists Awards slated for August 18.
The institutions are Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited, British Airways, and the Ghana Oil Company.
Mr Ransford Tetteh, President of GJA, said this year's awards were a paradigm shift to engage corporate Ghana in advancing the course of the country.
He said the power of technology and communication called for the building up of media capacity to march international standards and to be used as a tool to create wealth.
Mr Tetteh appealed to media practitioners to be neutral, factual and to give fair reportage. "Always offer the public an opportunity for their side to be heard".
Mr Bright Blewu, General Secretary GJA, said the GH=A22000 donation covered the cost of the laptop, a plaque and certificate for the award winner.
Mrs Yaa Oforiwah Asare-Peasah, National Treasurer who received the donation, expressed gratitude to the institutions for contributing to the development of the Ghanaian media.
