Ghana defender Samuel Inkoom has arrived in Ukraine to sign for giants Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk, Ghanasoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.
The 21-year-old will undergo a medical test on Tuesday before signing the deal.
His Swiss side FC Basel are expected to swoop US$7m from the deal while Inkoom’s wages will triple from what he currently earns.
The former Asante Kotoko defender left his Swiss club’s training in Spain on Monday night by a special jet to Ukraine.
If he passes the medical test he will sign a two-year contract.
The Ukrainian top-flight side are currently enjoying a period of financial prosperity, and the club has revealed the Ghanaian right-back as their first hopeful acquisition.
Inkoom has previously garnered the interest of Spanish giants Barcelona, and so his possible switch to Dnipro would be seen as a massive coup for the club.
He played for Ghana at the World Cup and his stock has risen since then.
Arguably, the clubs first shock acquisition came with their manager, former Tottenham and Real Madrid boss Juande Ramos, when he agreed to a four-year contract with the club last October.
