For the fifth time in a row after the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Tariq Lamptey will be unavailable for a Black Stars game.
The Brighton and Hove Albion right-back was initially included in Ghana's squad for the friendly games against Mexico and the United States of America during the October international.
However, in the penultimate game for his club before the break, Lamptey picked up a knock and missed the game against Liverpool, where his side secured a 2-2 draw against the Reds.
There were hopes the player, despite the knock, would be available for the two games on October 14 and October 18.
Lamptey's last game for the national team was during the 3-2 over South Korea in Ghana's second group game at the World Cup.
Since then, he has missed games against Angola (twice), Madagascar, Central African Republic and Liberia in the last three international breaks.
Six games; that is the number of matches he has missed during that period.
The 23-year-old was expected to be a key figure in Ghana's team after committing his future to the Black Stars but Lamptey has barely had a full time to integrate himself and the latest setback only adds to that number.
Lamptey will stay with Brighton during the international break and hopes to recover and be fit when club football resumes.
In his absence, Alidu Seidu and Kingsley Schlinder are expected to fight for the right-back spot.
