Mr Richard Nixon Tetteh, who wants to contest next year's election as an independent presidential candidate, has called on the media to offer equal publicity to all presidential candidates during the 2008 general election.
He said it was important that the media became unbiased towards every candidate because the media played an important role in the country's democracy.
Mr Tetteh said in a press statement "I urge journalists to keep on with the good work and also be more circumspect in their reportage as we enter a serious political season next year".
He wished Muslims a happy Eid-Ur-Adha and appealed to Muslim youth to desist from engaging in activities that would undermine the Islamic religion.
Mr Tetteh wished Christians a Merry Christmas and urged the youth to live exemplary life worth emulation.
