President John Dramani Mahama has emphasised that Ghana's independence anniversary should be a day of deep reflection on the nation's journey, highlighting both its achievements and areas for improvement.
Speaking during the 68th independence day celebration held at Jubilee House today, Thursday, President Mahama stated that the reflection should not solely focus on the immediate progress made but also on how the country has managed and preserved its national assets, keeping in mind the future generations who will inherit them.
“We must ask ourselves, how well have we stewarded our resources for those who will follow us?” he asked.
He further urged that Ghana’s narrative should not be one of missed opportunities.
“Our story must be one of continued efforts to achieve far more than we can boast today. Posterity will not accept our failures, nor will it take them kindly, stressing that the pursuit of national growth and success requires constant commitment and vision.
