The Director General of the Ghana Education Service, Dr Eric Nkansah, says his administration is committed to improving the working conditions of all staff in the Service.
He said the welfare of both teaching and non-teaching staff of the GES was his topmost priority and that he would do everything possible to achieve the goal.
Dr Nkansah was speaking at a meeting with the members of the Conference of Managers of Education Units (COMEU) at their 49th annual conference at Ho, in the Volta Region.
“We will continue to prioritise issues relating to promotions, upgrading, staff ID generation, and transfer grants, for all employees,” he stated.
He said management had started working on the promotions results released a few weeks ago.
“Hopefully, it will start reflecting on your payslips from next month,” the Director General assured the promoted staff of the Service.
Dr Nkansah noted that the management had cleared up all the outstanding issues related to staff promotions and privileges of staff that he came to meet.
The Director General said this was possible because of the digitalisation policies and programmes the Service had employed in its work.
He commended all key stakeholders, including the Conference of Managers of Education Units, Conference of Heads of Assisted Schools, Conference of Heads of Basic Schools and the various teacher unions, for their support in achieving the dream of the service.
Dr Nkansah expressed the hope of fruitful working relationships in the GESto help improve quality education delivery in the country.
