Personnel of the Immigration, Fire and Prisons service are next in line to enjoy the single spine pay packets that has been so highly appreciated by their counterparts in the police service.
According to the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission, workers of the three institutions, the final batch of the security services to be captured under the SSS pay policy should be paid the new salaries at the end of this month.
This follows the completion of their migration onto the new salary structure on Monday.
Fair Wages Chief Executive, George Smith-Graham however tells Joy Business there could be possible delays in the processing of the salaries.
“If you look at the time they will need to understand that it may end up delaying their salaries slightly.
“…We just completed so if they are not able to get it exactly at the end of the month and it delays a week or thereabout they need to understand it because we want to ensure that we complete it and pay them.”
Though military personnel are not captured under single spine their civilian colleagues with the Ministry of Defense will benefit.
He talks about workers of other public sector institutions which should also soon see some adjustments in their salaries courtesy, single spine.
The single spine salary structure promises enhanced salaries for government workers based on their value and contribution.
About 70 percent of workers on government payroll are expected to see an increase in their salaries.
