Brand Managers, Advertisers and Marketers have been advised to imbibe discipline in their field of work in order to remain relevant in the advertising space.
According to the International Advertising Association, Covid-19 pandemic has taught businesses great lessons, hence maintaining a reputable brand post Covid-19, will lead to the sustainability and growth of business organisations.
Delivering the keynote address at the International Advertising Association, Africa Rising 5 Conference, on the theme, “Brands for purpose, brands for people”, Advisor to the President on Media, Oboshie Sai Cofie emphasised the need for brand managers to partner the education and health sectors to champion the course of the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s).
“There is the need for brands to partner our education and health care delivery, especially after Covid-19, as well as championing the SDG’s goals. Consumers are clients and our driving purpose. And they ones that walk the talk and cares for the people”.
President and Chairman of the International Advertising Association, Joel Nettey, stressed on the need for Brand Mangers, Advertisers and Marketers to remain focused and build a sustainable brand in order to remain relevant post-Covid-19.
“Sustainability is critical everywhere in the world. Depending on where you are in the world, it may mean more to you than others. I mean look at the month of October [2022], I mean really, we all know that October is a dry month”.
“So clearly, the climate change is real, and brands that actually promote these things will be seen by people, eventually if the brands are actually clear about the outcome. So sustainability, diversity, equity and inclusion, education…all those are IA values we are trying to promote them to the rest of the world”, he added.
On his part, Founder and CEO of Mc-Dan Group of Companies, Daniel Mc Korley urged brand managers to be disciplined, saying, it is the surest ways to build businesses in Africa.
“When you talk about discipline in businesses, you’ll realise that without discipline, lot businesses collapse. Always attach attitude, discipline and sustainability when you want to build a stronger brand. So I have a long way to go”.
“As I keep saying is that my business is really not about financial, but its about building human resource. And without discipline, how do you build a stronger human resource? So discipline is always a key when it comes to building businesses in Africa”.
