Former Minister of Education, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, has expressed her readiness and commitment to collaborate with the flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Party (NDC), John Mahama in the upcoming general elections.
Prof Opoku-Agyemang stated that she considers the confidence placed in her with utmost seriousness and is dedicated to serving the people of Ghana with "integrity, dignity, truthfulness, hard work, and patriotism."
Her remark follows her nomination and unveiling as the running mate to the former President by the National Executive Committee (NEC) and Council of Elders of the NDC during a meeting on Thursday, March 7.

The General Secretary of the NDC, Fifi Fiavi Kwettey emphasised that the nomination of Prof Opoku-Agyeman underscores the party's unwavering commitment to fostering inclusivity, diversity, and the empowerment of women in leadership positions.
Responding to her nomination in a press statement released on Thursday, March 7, Prof Opoku-Agyemang expressed heartfelt appreciation to the NDC Council of Elders and the NEC for their overwhelming support and endorsement.
She remarked, "Today, I received the news of my confirmed selection as the Running Mate to His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, Flagbearer and Leader of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), and incoming President of the Republic of Ghana with profound humility and great honour.
“It is worthy of note that this is the second time former President John Mahama has nominated me as his Running Mate. I express my eternal gratitude to him. By this choice, our Flagbearer has demonstrated remarkable consistency, an unwavering commitment to inclusivity and innovation, and an inspirational belief in the Ghanaian woman,” she said.
The 2020 general election running mate of Mr Mahama expressed optimism about the former President's ability to provide "selfless, incorruptible, visionary, and inclusive leadership" that Ghana urgently needs.
She pledged to dedicate herself entirely to "this noble task" and emphasised that Ghanaians are relying on the NDC's resolute commitment to work hard in building the desired future for Ghana collectively.
