Great Olympics goalkeeper Richard Kingson has exclusively told Joy Sports he is not thinking of retiring from active football anytime soon.
The veteran goalkeeper has been in good form for the Accra-based club in this season’s First Capital Plus Premier League.
Olele, as he is known, conceded just two goals in the first half of the season and according to the 36-year old there are more years in him. Is he retiring soon?
"I don't know, but I believe when the time comes I will stop. I will not wait for someone to tell me to stop. When the time comes I will".
"In football you have to listen to yourself and your body will indicate it's over. Some people stop because of pressure from people. But I will not bow to that pressure. When the time comes to retire I will for now am active."
Kingson previously played for several clubs in Turkey, for Hammarby in Sweden, and in England for Birmingham City, Wigan Athletic as well as Blackpool.
A vice-captain for the Black Stars, Olele is one of the most capped Ghanaian players ever with 90.
The Great Olympics shot-stopper will have the second round of this season to showcase and continue making a case for a comeback to the Black Stars, which he still hopes can happen.
