The Inspector General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, has called on Ghanaians to assist the Police in identifying and reporting individuals who may threaten the peace and security of the nation during the 2024 general elections.
Speaking on the ongoing efforts to prevent election-related violence, Dr. Dampare highlighted the need for community collaboration to address potential threats.

"We may not reach everybody, so what it means is that there could be a few others who still think they can make an attempt to disturb the peace of this country. Those people, you may be in the community, you may hear of them, you may see them.
"Our prayer is to allow yourself to be used as a vessel of God to let us know those people so we can give them a place that has been designated for them," he stated.
He made its appeal while addressing members of the Assemblies of God Church in Accra on Sunday, November 24. The Ghana Police embarked on an outreach programme visiting churches in Accra to educate congregants on the importance of peaceful voting.
Dr Dampare assured the public that law enforcement is prepared to act decisively, with facilities available to detain individuals who seek to disrupt peace.
"As we speak, the police cells have vacancies, the prisons have vacancies. So that proactively, we move them out of our community and keep them where they want to be kept so that we continue to live our lives to the fullest during the rest of the election period and beyond," the IGP added.
