An aspiring first-time voter, Nii Ayi Tagoe, has decided not to participate in the upcoming December election, citing disappointment with the two major political parties, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Living in the Odododiodio constituency, Tagoe has observed numerous issues that have failed to "convince" him "to go and vote."

He expressed his concerns about unemployment, sanitation, free education, and economic management, stressing the need for continuity in government projects.

"I believe in continuity, so I want to see one government starting a project and the other government continuing or maintaining it. In my constituency, there is the Accra Simpe School which was started by the Mahama government, but since Akufo-Addo came to office, nothing has been done about it," Mr Tagoe explained.

He also highlighted the debate surrounding Free SHS, acknowledging both positive and negative perspectives.

"I believe that it is good for all of us. So instead of talks of some government coming to office and cancelling it, let’s look at the challenges and fix them," he added.

In response, the governing NPP’s Deputy General Secretary, Haruna Mohammed, called on the education directorate in the constituency to address the issue, ensuring it receives the necessary attention.

Meanwhile, George Opare Addo, the NDC National Youth Organiser, expressed hope that Tagoe will reassess the two parties and decide to vote on December 7.

He assured that all viable projects aimed at improving education would be continued if John Mahama is re-elected.
