Ningo-Prampram MP, Samuel Nartey George, has revealed that at the tender age of five, he used to hold outdoor crusades for about 5,000 people in Nigeria.
The controversial lawmaker indicated that he has had a long walk with God, adding that people who knew him in Nigeria predicted that he would be a clergyman.
“As young as 5/6 years, I was holding outdoor crusades where 3,000 to 5,000 people were attending in Nigeria. People who knew me in Nigeria growing up actually thought I was going to end up as a pastor [and] my mum still says I will be a pastor,” he disclosed.
Speaking in an interview on Daybreak Hitz on Wednesday, the Deputy Ranking Member of Parliament’s Communication Committee stated he does not fear what people do or say about him because he is a child of the covenant.
According to him, his name – Samuel – explains a covenant his mother had with God after seven years of marriage without a child.
“My name, Samuel, is not just a fancy Bible name my parents saw; it was as a result of a covenant my mum had with God. My parents were married 7 years with no children and had eight miscarriages. So, people said my mother was a witch.”
“She went for a church convention and went into a covenant with God that ‘give me a male son in a year’s time like you did for Hannah and I will not dedicate him like people dedicate their children but I will hand him back to the church.’ Exactly a year later, I was born and that’s why I am called Samuel.”
As an elder of the Perez Chapel International, Sam George stressed “I am a child of covenant and that’s why I don’t fear man because they have absolutely no understanding of who I am or what I am and I know what I carry.”
“I tell people ‘be careful because we are not grace mates’ because what you can’t do I can do,” he told host, Andy Dosty.
