Highlife artiste Dada Hafco says he is pleased with rumours that Mark Okraku Mantey will be chosen as the Deputy Minister for Tourism Arts and Culture.

Speaking on Showbiz A-Z, he stated that the industry has always had people who did not understand it’s operations chosen as ministers and intercede for the sector.

“I think that the people who negotiate on our behalf with the President haven’t been fair to us in the past years. So I was always advocating for somebody, an industry person to be in that position,” Dada Hafco said.

With over 20 years of experience and grooming of some of Ghana’s biggest artistes, Dada Hafco believes Mr Okraku Mantey is better equipped to help the industry as a Deputy Minister.

“He (Mr Okraku Mantey) is being paired with Dr Mohammed Awal who is from the corporate world and Mark being a very pragmatic person, I believe they will be a perfect match.”

His comment comes after Shatta Wale went on a rant on social media bemoaning the lack of structures in the industry.

The dancehall artiste discouraged the push for Mark Okraku Mantey to be a deputy minister stating that he cannot help the industry like he can

But Dada Hafco disagreed with his colleague’s statement explaining that it is good to have an industry person intercede for those in the creative industry.

He added that if Mr Okraku Mantey performs poorly as a minister, the president will ensure when it is time Ministerial reshuffling, he will be removed from his post.
