Nigerian musician Iyanya has hinted that he will release a song to respond to the cheating allegations levelled against him by actress Yvonne Nelson in her new book.
Taking to Twitter, the singer, who was seemingly inspired by Sarkodie’s decision to respond to the actress’ claims in a track, stated that he might face criticism because of it.
However, Iyanya believes that he has to say something and thus urged his followers and fans to anticipate it.
“Y’all waiting for my side of the story? If I talk now, I’ll be accused of kissing and telling, sluts shaming, etc. But something gat [sic] to give, so wait for it,” he wrote.

This comes after Yvonne Nelson opened up about her romance with Iyanya over a decade ago in her memoir ‘I Am Not Yvonne Nelson’.
She claimed that the Nigerian singer cheated on her actress Tonto Dikeh.

When I was convinced about the authenticity of the information I received, I was heartbroken,” excerpts of the read.
“I took to Twitter to rant and vent. Tonto Dikeh responded on Twitter, saying people changed and so did feelings, so I should move on. I later heard more stories about what Iyanya did with some of his female crew members,” Yvonne wrote.
Meanwhile, Iyanya is not the only artiste who has thought of using music to respond to the allegations in the memoir.
In the early hours of Wednesday, June 28, Sarkodie who is also mentioned in the book responded to claims Yvonne Nelson made against him.
In the memoir, she revealed having had an affair with the rapper in 2010 which resulted in a pregnancy.
In Chapter 8 of the book, she recounts her decision to terminate the pregnancy because the rapper did not accept responsibility, explaining that later she found out the rapper had another girlfriend who was studying in a university abroad hence his rejection.
However, replying to Yvonne Nelson’s allegation, the BET award winner in his new release ‘Try Me’, a direct reply to Yvonne, says he never encouraged the actress to have an abortion.
According to him, while he was not ready to be a father, he had told her to keep the pregnancy but Yvonne chose to go ahead with the abortion because she was schooling.
“So don’t you make it seem like I was the one pushing you for abortion,” he said in Try Me, and advised Yvonne Nelson not to play the victim and create the impression that she was looking for love.
“Baby girl make you no try me”, he cautioned.
