Ghana’s fast-rising Afrobeats artiste Siicie reveals his disbelief in Christianity and why he shunned Christianity to be on his own, without religion.
In an interview with DJ Slim on Daybreak Hitz, he said, “I am no longer a Christian; I am a purpose.”
He further explained that despite being from a Christian home, he does not agree with Christian beliefs.
However, the artiste explained that his mother is a gospel musician and did not approve of his secular style until he started making great progress during a reality show he partook in.
Due to the contradictory goals of him and his mom, the singer explained that his mother was against the first secular song he made in secondary school because she had plans for him to do gospel music and it deterred the release of the song because of her disapproval.
The singer added on assertively, saying “I’ve found a reason why I’m here, to preach positivity through my music and that’s my purpose”.
He added that religion and commercializing God were the reasons he fell off from the church.
He said that “in Christ’s lifetime he didn’t create religion or commercialize his teachings but that is the opposite of what is happening now.”
He also further explained that he doesn’t believe in Christ but he believes and strongly agrees with some of his teachings.
Siicie is currently promoting his new song titled “Troubles”.
