Sunderland’s on-loan Ghana midfielder Sulley Muntari went down a storm when he attended a signing session at one of the club’s retail locations.
He met hundreds supporters at the club’s store in the Galleries, Washington where he signed shirt, balls and other memorabilia.
Supporters’ queued for hours to meet the Inter Milan midfielder who is on Wearside for the rest of the season, and he was happy to sign items including a football and a boot from the 1950s, Ghana’s shirt and Black Cat items.
Speaking about the event Muntari said:”Wow! There were loads of people to meet me and it was great to meet them all. I knew about the fantastic support already but great to see it for myself.”
The event was the first signing session of half term and another one will follow tomorrow (Thursday).
African stars Asamoah Gyan and Stephane Sessegnon will be at the Stadium of Light store from 4.30pm until 5.30pm.
