An Akim Oda Magistrate’s Court has remanded Rebecca Owusu, a housewife, for the second time in police custody for allegedly using DDT and other chemicals to prepare food for her husband, Mr Yaw Sarfo, a trader at Akim Oda to enhance his performance in bed.
The accused first appeared before the court presided over by Mr Albert Annor on February 13, this year, but her plea was not taken.
She was remanded to re-appear on May 14, to enable the police complete investigations.
Police Chief Inspector Benjamin Osei Kwadwo, told the court that the complainant lived with Rebecca at Akim Oda and sometime in February this year, Rebecca allegedly mixed some DDT, 10 tablets of valium and 'Blue-Blue' and used the mixture to prepare food for her husband.
The Prosecution said when the complainant ate some of the food he started vomiting and was rushed to the hospital where upon interrogation by health personnel, Rebecca confessed that the mixture was to assist her husband perform well in bed.
He said Rebecca was arrested and sent to the police station for further investigations.
