Black Stars coach Avram Grant is delighted with the reception the team has received in Tamale ahead of their World Cup qualifying tie against Uganda.
The Black Stars return to Tamale after almost two years where they beat Togo 3-1 in an AFCON qualifier.
The Stars have not received much love in recent months from the general population but their reception in Tamale was great and this has not gone unnoticed by the Israeli trainer.
“The welcome and reception was very good. The players like to be here. The atmosphere is good and we are happy to be here.”
“We are very happy to be here including the reception. When you go to a place and people are happy to see you, you also feel happy.”
The weather has been a subject of concern for many considering majority of the players are foreign based but Grant has quickly played down talks it could hamper his team’s play.
"It will be hot for both teams and not for only Ghana. It's the first time we are playing under such a weather but of course both teams will be playing in it so not a problem.”
This will be the first game Avram Grant will be handling the Black Stars in Tamale.
