Hollard Ghana with its subsidiaries has partnered with oil marketing company, Vivo Energy to offer insurance solutions to customers.
This makes both the insurance firm and Shell pioneers in adopting such strategy in reaching out to the uninsured population.
Group Chief Executive of Hollard Ghana, Patience Akyianu said the company will offer a range of products that will include existing and co-created tailor-made propositions for customers.
She said, "This is a one-stop-shop that will offer a suite of insurance products in addition to services so you’ll be able to buy the insurance and we’ll issue you with policies; you can be able to make claims, you can pay your premiums here and even we take customer complaints”
Hollard has mounted booths in 11 Shell shops manned by its “business executives” – a compliment to job creation for the youth.
The shops include Adjiringanor, Airport City, Asokwa, Kasoa Amanfrom, Koforidua Highway, Kwadaso, Legon, Old Amakom, Tema Meridian, University of Ghana, and the Western Bypass of the Shell stations.
The company aims to improve both Life and non-life insurance awareness, acceptance and thereby their penetration in the country.
While agents are considered to be the backbone of the life and non-life insurance business, Hollard aside its agency force decided to focus on an alternative channel to improve quality of sale.
The recent partnership with Vivo seems to be the insurer's way of deepening its presence and thereby increasing its market share.
Meanwhile, the Managing Director of Vivo Energy Ghana, Ben Hassan Ouattara has pledged continuous investment into providing convenience to customer’s to position the shell brand as the preferred fuel station in the country.
