The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) has adjudged the Ho Mutual Health Insurance Scheme the best in the Volta Region.
The Scheme was also declared the 10th best out of 145 schemes nationwide at an awards night organised by the NHIA in Accra in December 2010.
Mr Mawuko Tsigbey, Ho Mutual Health Insurance Scheme Manager who disclosed this to the GNA in Ho on Monday, said the Ho Scheme excelled in financial management, claims management, good provider management and Identity Card management, among others.
He said the Scheme was presented with a table-top fridge and a certificate in recognition of its achievement.
Mr Tsigbey dedicated the award to clients of the Scheme and said the target now was to make the Scheme a model one in the country.
He appealed to clients to register and renew their memberships on time for the smooth administration of the Scheme.
Mr Tsigbey said a 24-hour hotline was being created to enhance communication between clients and the Scheme.
