The High Church of Africa (HICA) marked its 2nd anniversary with the inauguration of a state-of-the-art mineral water factory in the Agortime traditional area of the Volta region.
The event brought together traditional leaders, church leaders, and community members to celebrate the milestone and highlight its significance to the local economy.
In his welcome address, Senior Apostle Nutifafa Takyi of HICA lauded the quality of water being produced by the factory. He described it as “the best” and emphasized its purity, stating, “Our water has no bacteria, no microbes, no sugar, no coliforms, and an excellent iron balance. The underground water we use is one of the best you can think of.” He called on the media to propagate the message about the high-quality water produced by the factory, branded as "High Car Water."
Apostle Takyi also expressed gratitude to the traditional leaders for their cooperation in securing the land for the factory. “Though we purchased the land, the involvement and support of the traditional leaders were crucial to making this project a reality,” he stated.
The factory, which currently employs 12 staff members, draws workers from the church and the local community. Apostle Takyi noted that the workforce is expected to expand to 20 or 30 in the coming months as the factory scales up operations.
He highlighted the church’s commitment to reinvesting proceeds into the community, stating, “This is not just a profit-making venture; it is about giving back to the community and empowering church members and locals.”
The Chief Warlord of the Agortime traditional area, Nene Akoto Sah VII, commended HICA for establishing the factory, noting that it addresses the area's long-standing water challenges. He appealed to the government to prioritize water issues in Agortime, which continue to affect the livelihoods of the people.
“This factory is a great step forward. It does not only provide us with clean water but also creates jobs for the community,” Nene Akoto Sah VII remarked, expressing hope that more developmental projects would follow.
The HICA pure water factory is expected to play a pivotal role in improving access to clean water in the region while contributing to economic development through job creation and skills training.
