The long-standing rivalry between Afrobeats stars Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, and David Adeleke, a.k.a. Davido, has sprung up again.
The latest spat erupted on Tuesday after Davido teased a snippet of his upcoming single for 2024.
Coincidentally, Wizkid had also been set to release the first track of his much-anticipated “Morayo” album.
Tensions escalated when Davido’s associate, Kayode Yajaur, known as Black Tycoone, seemingly mocked Wizkid over the delay in his album release, tweeting, “Tell your Daddy to drop an album already.”
Wizkid, unfazed by the comment, took to X (formerly Twitter) to throw shade at Davido’s camp, writing, “P***y boys dropping mid again,” followed by, “Una don tire! Make una go rest small!”
While he did not mention Davido by name, fans were quick to interpret the post as a jab at the ‘Fem’ singer.
In defence of Davido, one fan accused Wizkid of using the rivalry to stir up attention, tweeting, “So if you no beef @davido, your song won’t sell?”
Wizkid responded swiftly, denying that he was clout-chasing while attacking Davido’s talent. “I don’t beef wack niggas! We all know he’s wack! No talent!” he fired back.

Wizkid continued the tirade, dismissing Davido’s body of work as “trash” and bragging about his own superior musical output. “80 trash! We got 80 albums for any song y’all drop! P***y boys!” he added.
Despite the harsh words, Davido has remained silent, choosing not to engage publicly in the ongoing feud.
