Hearts unveil Sergio Traguil as new coach

Accra Hearts of Oak have officially unveiled Portuguese Sergio Traguil  as their new head coach.

The Portuguese trainer who was initially brought in as the head coach of the junior teams of the club, Auroras and Royal Oaks, had to step in as the first team coach following the departure of Japanese American coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi.

The unveiling was done at the club’s secretariat in the presence of the media and two key Hearts of Oak management committee members namely, Vincent Sowah Odotei, head of the strategy committee and Frank Nelson a board member of the club who also doubles as a member of the strategy committee.

The Portuguese trainer who has already met the players and had three training sessions with them noted that Hearts is a big club and is aware of the pressure that comes with managing such a team, but he is up to the challenge.

“ I think pressure don’t exist in football in my opinion, I am doing the job that I love so how can I be under pressure, I was born for this,” he said at his unveiling.

“Pressure is when the month is coming to an end and you realized you don’t have anything to give your children and family, for me that is pressure."

“I am here to try my best, whether the youth teams or the main team, I will do my best and get the club to a respectable place.”

Traguil’s first game will be against Dreams FC at the Accra Stadium on Sunday in the matchday a 16 Premier league fixture.
