Fans of Accra Hearts of Oak have started agitating for Paa Kwesi Fabin to be sacked following the team’s disappointing 1-0 loss to New Edubiase at the Accra Stadium.
Edubiase forward Nuhu Fuseini picked the win for his side after scoring two minutes from full time. And after grabbing the winner an elated Nuhu Fuisieni told Joy Sports he thanks Almighty Allah for helping him score such a famous goal against the 'giant' Phobian side.
The rather unimpressive Hearts of Oak created few chances and failed to make good of them. This incurred the displeasure of some of the fans who are now asking for the head coach to be axed.
One frustrated fan said if the coach is not sacked and the team continues to play the way they are currently doing, “I don’t think anybody will come to the stadium again. We will all stop coming to the stadium so that they will play to the empty chairs.”
But Hearts of Oak spokesperson, Albert Commey disagrees.
He said some of the players missed begging chances. “Our boys did not help matters, the chances they had, they were throwing them away so who do you blame?"
He said the managers of the team have to go back to the drawing board and pick lessons from Sunday’s loss.
While Hearts were ruing their loss, Kotoko had a better story to tell after beating regional rivals Ashantigold 1-0 away at the Len Clay Stadium to record a third straight win.
Kotoko spokesperson Jarvis Peprah told Joy Sports, determination and resilience won the "difficult" game for the Porcupine Woriors.
Liberty Professionals have a new beginning after recording their first win beating Mighty Jets 2-1 at the El-Wak Park
But Mighty Jets coach E.K. Afranie blames his side’s loss to Liberty on poor officiating by Referee Seidu Bomison.
Elsewhere, Kessben FC still leads the pack after a 1-1 draw with defending champions Aduana Stars at the Essipong Stadium.
King Faisal beat B.A. Stars by a lone goal, while Heart of Lions and All Stars drew goalless.
