Board member of Hearts, Alhaji Akanbi, has called on fans of the club to rally behind the team as the aim to end their seven year wait for a league trophy.
The club and most especially their new head coach, Sergio Tranguil, have come under severe pressure for their inability to win games.
But Akanbi believes the club’s recent play is testament to their progression
“It seems people don’t want to tell the truth but the truth is only one and we will say it because it seems whatever we do for the club, the supporters doesn’t seem to appreciate it,” he told Asempa Sports.
“In the first round of the Premier League, we drew with Dreams FC and we won against them in the second round. We drew with Aduana Stars at Dormaa and they also had a draw with us here in Accra and it was clear that with the strength that Aduana Stars is having now, it is really difficult to play against them.
“I don’t really know the supporters watch the match when they come to the stadium because I can say that with how the club is playing now, the team is not doing badly at all.”
Akanbi is adamant the team is on the ascendency.
“With how the team is playing now, nobody can convince that the team is declining and whoever will say the team is declining that person don’t know football and that particular person should go and start learning football because it is about time we stop personalizing issues.
“You look at where we had these kind of players they are playing now, we bought most of them from the second Division Clubs. We have a philosophy as a club so the supporters of the club should give us their full support.”
Hearts travel to Sekondi to play Hasaacas on matchday 19.
