A second half controversial goal from Attakora Gyimah sent Accra Hearts of Oak to the second position on the league table with 21 points - behind Kumasi Asante Kotoko - after a hard fought 2-1 win against Medeama FC at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Medeama FC took the lead on the 23rd minute of the game from the spot, courtesy Francis Coffie before Mahatma Otoo equalized with a stunning shot just after two minutes.
Gyimah then put the icing on the cake when he slotted home at close range to secure the three points for the phobians in a must-win game. The players and some technical team members of Medeama FC felt shortchanged by the referee as he failed to whistle for a foul in their favour moments before the goal came.
In other matches Hearts of Lions and Bechem United drew in a goaless game at the Kpando park, whiles Arsenals and AshantiGold FC also shared the spoils in a 1-1 duel. Wassaman FC also beat Liberty Professionals by two goals to nil.
The Kotoko-Chelsea game was postponed due to the porcupine warrior’s assignment in Tanzania.
The other scores for match day 11 are:
New Edubiase FC 2-1 Aduana Stars
Dwarfs 1-1 Wa All Stars
