Hasaacas Ladies wrapped up their preparations for the new Malta Guinness Women's Premier League season by winning the Champion of Champions title over the weekend.
The reigning league champions beat FA Cup winners Army Ladies at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram on Saturday, October 12, to win the trophy.
Comfort Owusu and Mercy Attobrah were the goalscorers in the 2-0 win for the Hasmal Ladies.
Hasaacas, who are still under the tutelage of former player Mabel Baffoe Eshun had a good start to the game as they created opportunities.
However, their Southern Zone counterparts were resilient at the back and blocked any chance of conceding.
In the 39th minute of the game, Comfort broke the deadlock. The right-back beat the Army Ladies' goalkeeper to Abiba Issah's cross to make it 1-0 for Hasaacas Ladies.
The Takoradi-based side doubled the lead in the second half through Mercy Attobrah who scored in the 74th minute.
Army Ladies failed to make the most of their chances when they had the opportunity as Hasaacas held on to win the contest 2-0.
The match was a curtain raiser for the 2024/25 season which starts October, 18-21, 2024.
