The Hacklab Foundation, organisers of Ghana’s largest annual hackathon, have partnered with technology company, IBM to introduce an online educational campaign in the wake of COVID-19, dubbed ‘Hacklab IBMdna Webinar Series’.
The goal of this series is to help the Ghanaian student and working executive to gain skills necessary for their professional growth.
The Hacklab Foundation is an international non-profit organization headquartered in Ghana with focus on preparing the youth for future digital jobs through technology education and skills development.
Over the years, they have achieved this through hackathons, boot camps, mentorship, and coaching, internships, digital skills training and job placement.
The foundation’s flagship program –– Hacklab Annual Hackathon, was grounded to a halt this year due to the effect of COVID-19.
However, executives of the foundation together with one of their longstanding, innovative partners of the Annual Hackathon - IBM, have come together to introduce to the Ghanaian people an educational campaign to help them improve upon their professional skills with this Webinar Series.
The series is a weekly event on Zoom with industry experts taking participants through various topics from thought leadership to data driven insight discussions.
Over the past few weeks, participants of the webinar series have benefitted from the knowledge pool of some experts including Dr Gordon Adomdza who took participants through ‘How to Use Design Thinking to Reevaluate the Customer Journey’, Titioluwa Animasaun, a representative from IBM, speaking on ‘IBMdna Platform and How to Use it to Prepare Yourself for Future Jobs’.
Many more experts are lined up for the subsequent sessions; Kwame A.A. Poku, A 2x TEDx Speaker and CEO Reset Global People, Foster Awintiti, Incubator Manager, SB Incubator.
Friday, 31st July, 2020 will be the next date for the Webinar Series. And every other Friday after that.
