English club Everton's move for Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan has stalled because of the financial demands of his French club Rennes.
Everton were hunting the Black Stars striker hoping for a loan deal until for end of the season.
The Toffees are keen to augment their squad before the transfer window in England slams shut at 1700GMT on Monday following injuries to their forwards including Yakubu Aiyegbeni.
But his club Rennes are reluctant to part with the African unless they get an £8m transfer fee.
