Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan believes he can replicate his fine scoring form abroad at next month's Africa Cup of Nations in Angola.
The Rennes striker has raked in 8 goals for his side in the French Ligue 1 and goes into the winter as fourth joint topscorer in the league.
Gyan believes his fitness level can help him overcome the bittersweet experience during the last Nations Cup on home where he decided to pack out of the team after being criticized for his profligacy.
"My form this season has been great and I hope it continues at the Nations Cup where the level is big for me. I have the confidence and I believe it's possible," Gyan said.
"But I must admit that playing in Africa is quite different from Europe and I need to keep my focus and not to be over-confident.
"This tournament will be great and in a world cup year, everybody will like to play well so you can't do nothing but your best."
Ghana's Group B opener is against Togo on 11 January before games against Ivory Coast and Burkina Faso.
