Guinness World Records has finally responded to Ghanaian event organiser, Afua Asantewaa’s attempt to break the record for the longest singing marathon by an individual.
According to Guinness World Records, they have been reviewing Afua’s evidence and will soon announce the results.
Guinness World Record made this statement in response to a comment by a TikTok user, cute_gyebuaxx, on a TikTok post to announce a record holder.
The TikTok comment read, “Please there was this girl in Ghana who did a singing marathon. Can you please say something about it cos we’ve been waiting?”
In response, the World Record stated “We’ve been reviewing Afua’s evidence and will be letting her know the results soon.”
Afua Asantewaa concluded her Guinness World Record attempt to break the record for the longest individual singing marathon on December 29, 2023.
Asantewaa sang for 126 hours and 52 minutes to surpass the existing 105 hours set by an Indian, Sunil Waghmare in 2012.
Subsequently, the event organiser submitted evidence of her singing attempt to Guinness World Records on January 6, 2024.
