The 2016 flagbearer of the Convention People’s Party Ivor Kobina Greenstreet has been re-elected to lead the party into the 2020 December 7 elections.

At the party’s presidential primaries on Saturday, Mr Greenstreet polled 1364 votes against Bright Akwetey’s 597 and Divine Ayivor’s 171 votes.

This would be the first time the CPP has repeated a presidential candidate for a major election.

Mr. Greetstreet was also the first General Secretary to have been reelected twice in the history of the Convention Peoples Party.

In his victory statement Mr. Greenstreet observed that the time has come for Ghanaain to vote for the CPP for massive transformation “Everywhere that I have gone on the campaign trail all that I get told is where is the CPP that will deliver for the people of Ghana?

“Today I give you my pledge that the CPP will deliver for the people. It will deliver the social justice that will make this country a better and more equal place with opportunity for all.”

Meanwhile, the party elected a new set of national executives to steer the affairs of the party.

Nana Akosua Frimpomaa Kumakuma, the 2012 running-mate to then flagbearer Dr. Abu-Sakara got the nod to become the CPP National Chairperson.

Nana Yaa Akyimpim Jantuah defeated acting General Secretary, James Kwabena Bomfeh popularly known as Kabila to become General Secretary.
