The grandfather of the four-year-old boy who was shot and killed by his six-year-old brother at Somanya in the Eastern Region on Thursday has been charged.
Benjamin Tetteh, 70, was charged with illegal possession of firearms, explosives, ammunition and negligently causing harm by the Somanya police.
The Somanya Magistrate's court is, however, unable to proceed any further because it lacks jurisdiction to hear the matter, Joy News’ Maxwell Agbagba reported.
The Magistrate, therefore, referred the case to the Odumase Circuit court where Benjamin Tetteh has been remanded in police custody.
The suspect also pleaded guilty to the charges.
The presiding judge said sentencing will be deferred until full investigations are carried out. The case has been adjourned to May 8, 2018.

The lifeless body of Alex Ologo Amanor in his grandfather's room
He was allegedly shot dead by his six-year-old brother at their grandfather’s home where they had gone to play, as school is on recess.
The boys were playing with the loaded gun before it came off, hitting Alex in the head and killing him instantly.
The gun used in committing the crime had been hidden under a bed.
In response as to why the weapon was not properly concealed, Benjamin Tetteh said he had used it to ward off some robbers the previous night and had forgotten to properly put it away.
District police commander ASP Isaac Ortsin told Maxwell, the old man has yet to provide answers to how he got the gun and if it is registered.
He also disclosed that a psychologist has been invited to counsel the six-year-old boy.
