Kings of the astro turf WAFA, play as hosts to away Lords Hearts of Oak in the opening fixture of matchday 23.
In what is a game with both sides having their invincibility at stake, a draw seems the most likely outcome.
WAFA have been undefeated at home so far and have accounted for Wa All Stars and Kotoko already but they face their biggest test at home against a Hearts of Oak side who simply do not lose away.
The Phobians have managed to at least pick a point on all their travels and will be further boosted by the return of striker Cosmos Dauda who is the club’s leading scorer as well as the player with most goals away from home.
Hearts sit uneasy at the top of the table with a slender one point lead over Wa All Stars and nothing but a victory can see them toppled by
Wa All Stars who play at home against Bechem United almost certain of victory.
Head coach of WAFA Akakpo Patron has led his charges through rigorous training all week and despite the sale of Kennedy Boateng, the academy side have enough in their production line to upset the Phobians.
They will be further boosted by Charles Boateng who has returned from national team duty to spearhead the attack for the academy side.
Portuguese Sergio Traguil can also count on Samudeen Ibrahim who lost his mum last week but all eyes will be on Patrick Razak to provide the much needed attacking thrust which seems lacking in the refined football being played by the Phobians in the second round.
Hearts will however be without defender Musah Inusah who was sent off against Ashantigold in their last league game. Richard Akrofi is expected to revert to center back while Owusu Bempah is deployed in his more familiar right back role.
An intriguing game awaits us and it will come as no surprise should the first round score of 1-1 be repeated.
