Seven matches will take center stage in Ghana with the 300th goal of the league set to be recorded.
KOTOKO VS BECHEM UNITED
Revenge will be on the mind of Kotoko as they host Bechem United at the Baba Yara few weeks after the Hunters knocked them out of the MTN FA Cup. The Porcupine Warriors are eyeing an added bonus of going on top of the table should other results go their way. Coach Michael Osei is confident of victory after the cup heartbreak. “We consider the game very important, the three points matter to us, we will be doing everything to fight for it,” he said. “The cup defeat broke our spirit for that moment but we have overcome the pain. We have to teach them a lesson on Sunday. There can’t be two ways about that. We have to beat them.”
HASAACAS VS HEARTS
Hearts of Oak travel outside Accra for the first time in the second round when they face Hasaacas who are going through a patchy spell. Coach Sergio Tranguil himself has not been comfortable ever since taking over the head coach role with media reportage always being about an ultimatum given to him. On the pitch itself, the Phobians have played some fanciful football with only the end product lacking. This will count for nothing against Eric Bekoe and Yusif Basigi who seem determined to end the Phobians impressive away record. “We will respect them because they have an impressive away record but we also have to stick to our home records in order to get all the maximum three points.” “I can promise the supporters that they should expect nothing but victory from the team so we are expecting them to troop into the stadium and support the team because the team belongs to them and I still maintain that we are going to win this match.”
WAFA VS WA ALL STARS
League leaders Wa All Stars travel down south with their positon at the summit of the table in jeopardy. They face the enterprising WAFA in Sogakope who are yet to taste defeat in their own backyard. The first round meeting ended in a stalemate and a similar result could see the Wa side knocked off their perch.
ASHANTIGOLD VS INTER ALLIES
Soon to be dethroned league champions Ashantigold, have home advantage against Inter Allies at the Len Cley. The Miners have drawn far too many games so far including the first round tie between both sides in Tema.
ADUANA VS NEW EDUBIASE
Goals are expected to be in abundance in Dormaa when Aduana play New Edubiase. The Dormaa side have spanked all visitors so far with their deadly frontline, and with the introduction of Nathaniel Asamoah, this could be a damage control exercise for Edubiase.
CHELSEA VS DWARFS
Chelsea have home advantage against Dwarfs who have horrible memories of their last trip to the Brong Ahafo Region. The Blues have been far from their best but will be hoping skipper and leading marksman Saddick Adams steers the club to another victory.
LIBERTY VS MEDEAMA
The CAS ruling might have severe ramifications on Dreams, but in this moment, all hands must be on deck against Liberty Professionals at the Carl Reindorf Park. George Lamptey’s side fought back twice to draw with Dreams in the first round, but they will be hoping to have the upperhand right from the start.
