FULL MATCH PREVIEW OF ALL EIGHT MATCHDAY 18 GHANA PREMIER LEAGUE GAMES
KOTOKO VS INTER ALLIES
Kotoko will begin the weekend with a tough trip to Tema against Inter Allies without striker Dauda Mohammed while Inter Allies will be without Evans Mensah and Kwame Baah. The Porcupine Warriors won the first round game by a single goal in Jimmy Cobblah’s first game in charge and will be hoping for a repeat performance. But head coach Michael wants that and more. He is eyeing the league title. “As for the league trophy, it is my wish that we win it. All we need is to work very hard and we make sure we play every game with discipline and make sure at the end of the season, we get a good position.”
HEARTS VS ADUANA
Hearts of Oak are winless in their last two games (league and President’s Cup) and their next game does not guarantee victory. They face the red hot Aduana Stars who have scored goals for fun. Hearts new coach Sergio Tranguil is aiming for his players to follow suit by sharpening their finishing but first of all, work hard. “I will not promise anything, the only thing I will promise is hard work and that is what I do everywhere I go and that is the only thing. You will never hear from me that I promised to win the league because I am not here for that. I will only promise hard work because I don’t feel any pressure or responsibility because I am here to do my job."
WA ALL STARS VS ASHANTIGOLD
Leaders Wa All Stars must be at their scintillating best to beat reigning league champions Ashantigold who broke their 9 game winless streak. The lead at the top has been cut to 1 and nothing but a victory will see All Stars at the summit come the end of this matchday.
MEDEAMA VS DREAMS
Continental campaigners Medeama host Dreams in Tarkwa after drawing blanks in their last two games. Akonnour’s side seem buoyed after the heroics of keeper Philemon Mccarthy in the last matchday. The first round game ended 2-2 and it will come as no surprise should the same scoreline be maintained.
BECHEM UNITED VS BEREKUM CHELSEA
Yet another Bono derby awaits us in Bechem with Bechem United hosting Berekum Chelsea at the Nana Gyaebour Park. Chelsea hold the advantage from the first round and Manuel Zacharias side will be itching to set the records straight. Chelsea won their last game 2-0 while Bechem Untied lost on the road. They will be looking up to striker Abednego Tetteh to lead from the front once again.
DWARFS VS HASAACAS
Natives of the coastal lands will be treated to their own form of special derby at the Robert Mensah Park when Ebusua Dwarfs play Hasaacas. Hasmal currently hold the bragging rights after a 2-1 victory in the first round. Nartey’s charges were sent crashing back to earth with a 3-0 trouncing at the hands of Aduana and will be in search of an immediate reaction.
TECHIMAN CITY VS WAFA
Techiman City will turn their attention to pitch after dominating the headline s in the week with a tie at home against academy side WAFA. Keeper Richmond Aryee put up a superb goalkeeping display in Sogakope to thwart WAFA but this game will be more about how the offensive talents of Baba Mahama and Stephen can impose themselves on the game.
NEW EDUBIASE VS LIBERTY
Financially constrained New Edubiase will host Liberty Professionals at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium without their fans. Edubiase got the first win in six on matchday 16 and a repeat score will be welcome but Liberty have gone of the radar a bit, failing to complete a double over Hearts. A win against Edubiase could the best catalyst to revive their title chase.
