There is a new league leader as we head into match day five of the Ghana Premier League. Hearts of Oak have announced their intentions very early and Coach Kenichi Yatsuhasi has his former critics at his feet. Wa All Stars, AshantiGold and Dreams FC all remain unbeaten. The biggest game is in Tema
Inter Allies v Hearts of Oak
The unstoppable Hearts of Oak travel a few miles east to Tema to face Inter Allies in one of the weekend’s big games. The attacking prowess and tactfulness of the Phobians should be of concern for Allies who are currently 10th on the table. The Tema Park should be an exciting place to spend the weekend as the Greater Accra derby is set to thrill spectators.
Bechem United v Ebusua Dwarfs
Dwarfs have been unbelievably poor since the start of the season last month. With their last game postponed because of Medeama’s continental campaign, the team should have had enough time to assess their performance. They travel to face Bechem this weekend where the hosts have a good record. Bechem will be hoping to bounce back after the 3-1 defeat they suffered in Accra last week.
WAFA v Liberty
It appears Wafa are only to be feared when they play in Sogakope. Their two victories so far this season have all been at home where they have scored seven goals. The youngsters are back home to face Liberty whose story are no different. Wafa’s defence had better watch out for Liberty playmaker Latif Blessing who got the goal for the Dansoman based side that ensures they sit are fifth on the table. It is Wafa’s home strength and Liberty’s weakens away that will be put to test in this game.
Wa All Stars v New Edubiase
All Stars remain unbeaten ahead of this game against struggling New Edubiase. The Stars will be hoping to regain the top spot which they lost to Hearts of Oak last weekend. With Hearts facing a formidable side like Inter Allies, the potential of All Stars reigning again is not far from impossible. What however seems impossible is a revamp of Edubiase’s form. The side currently lie 11th on the league log.
Techiman City v Dreams FC
Dreams FC head into this game still surprisingly unbeaten after four weeks. They travel all the way to Techiman to face their fellow newcomers. Techiman City have had what can be described as a satisfactory performance with six points heading into the game. Between the newcomers, Dreams FC are undoubtedly favourites heading into this game; however Techiman City are a strong hand at home.
