We take a critical look at some coaches who are under intense pressure as we build up to match day 8 of the Ghana Premier League.
KENICHI YATSUHASHI
The head of Accra Hearts of Oak has been under intense pressure and has been described as a “childish” person by a management member of the club when he took advantage of posting some internal issues within the club unto his official Facebook page.Hearts of Oak have failed to win three matches in a row with the last game ending in a defeat in the MTN FA Cup round of 32 against division one side Samatex.Hearts of Oak now play WAFA at the Accra Sports Stadium but the question is, will WAFA deepen the crisis of Accra Hearts of Oak who have failed to win a match after three matches? We only wait to see.
BASHIR HAYFORD
Ashantigold won the league with Coach Bashiru Hayford but the team after winning the league are going through serious problems. Bash has been accused of chasing the girlfriend of one of the players, but all remains a rumor. He was jeered after their home defeat against Dreams with the fans calling for his head. The Miners have win only one match, which was on the opening day fixtures, losing two and drawing four out of seven matches played with seven points occupying the 13th position .Coach Bashiru Hayford has dared the management of the club to pay him if they want to sack out of the club. They play New Edubiase in a home away from home tie. Another defeat will surely mark the end of his reign as Ashgold boss.
MICHAEL OSEI
Coach Michael Osei seems to have restored the spirit of Kumasi Asante Kotoko after winning two matches on a row.
Osei, who was asked to take over from Coach David Duncan after he was asked to step aside by the management of the club, won his first match against Liberty Professionals in Kumasi by 3-1 and followed it up with a 2-0 victory over Real 24 Hours. The team will be hoping to continue their impressive performance as they play Dreams FC at Dawu. Can Kotoko produce the magic against Dreams FC who have not lost any match at their home grounds? Until the end of 90 minutes we can tell.
J.E SARPONG
Coach J. E. Sarpong is one of the most experienced and renowned coaches we have in Ghana football today. The coach brought Ebusua Dwarfs from division one to the premier league but the mysterious thing happening to the club cannot be comprehended. The coach has been under intense pressure with the team lying 16th with five points winning only just a match, losing four and drawing two after seven matches played. Dwarfs now take on Techiman City at the Robert Mensah at Cape Coast. Will Dwarfs secure a win against Techiman City at home? We will wait to see at the end of the 90 minutes.
