Accra Hearts of Oak suffered the latest setback in the Ghana Premier League, this time, at home to Bibiani Gold Stars.
The Phobians suffered a 0-1 loss the Miners in front of an expectant crowd.
Fan favorite Atta Kumi scored the match winner for the visitors in the 69th minute.
Six minutes later, Hearts had an opportunity to restore parity when they were awarded a penalty.
Twinkle-toed Hussein Mohammed was pushed inside the penalty area by Kamadini Mahamudu.
His complains fell on deaf ears as the referee pointed to his extended arm, as proof of his offense.
All that did not matter as Emmanuel Kobi stretched to his elastic limit to palm away Hamza Issa's effort.
While there was still time, Hearts could not breach a rather miserly Gold Stars defense.
Sunday's victory means the Gold Stars have now amassed twice as many points (18) as Hearts of Oak (9).
Hearts are now just three points above the relegation zone, while Gold Stars sit pretty at the summit of the league.
