Ghana Premier League side Dreams FC are expected to adopt the New Town Park as their temporary home venue.
This follows the National Sports Authority (NSA)’s decision to close down the Accra Sports Stadium.
Dreams will not play at the Accra Sports Stadium again following the NSA's decision to close down the facility
On Monday, the NSA concluded its decision to close down the facility.
However, Dreams FC, one of the three Premier League clubs that use the venue for their home matches, was not informed of the decision.
Instead, the former FA Cup champions were informed by the Ghana Football Association to find an alternative venue for this weekend’s match against Kpando Heart of Lions
This is because the Tuba artificial pitch, Dreams FC’s designated alternative venue is still not ready to host a Premier League match.
The Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports Complex also known as the New Town Park
Given this, the club will host Lions at the New Town Park, the home venue for debutants Vision FC.
The facility passed the club licensing board’s approval tests and has already hosted a Premier League match; Vision’s league opener versus Berekum Chelsea.
Dreams are expected to host Nations FC at the Tuba artificial pitch on October 4, 2024.
