A number of Ghana Premier League clubs have withdrawn their players from the Black Meteors camp in anticipation of what is expected to be a keenly contested season finale.
Asante Kotoko, Great Olympics, Karela, Hearts of Oak and King Faisal have recalled their players from the Black Meteors team camp as Ghana prepares to face Japan in an international friendly.
Great Olympics have recalled Maxwell Abbey Quaye while Karela United have withdrawn Diawisie Taylor and Richard Baidoo.
Hearts of Oak served notice of their decision to recall Afriyie Barnie and Ibrahim Salifu but have allowed goalkeeper Richmond Ayi to remain with the team.
King Faisal have stopped striker Kwame Peprah from joining the team.
Asante Kotoko, second on the log, and with a two points deficit to make up on Hearts are only prepared to let Imoro Ibrahim travel with the squad - but they have recalled defender Yussif Mubarik.
The decision by the clubs is set to affect the quality of the Black Meteors team to meet their Japanese counterparts.
