Bibiani Gold Stars suffered a 2-0 defeat to rivals Medeama SC in the Western derby on Sunday, November 17, 2024.
Medeama entered the match on the back of two consecutive losses, but their strong home record against Gold Stars (two wins and one draw in their last three meetings) hinted at a competitive encounter.
Derrick Fordjour opened the scoring just 120 seconds into the game, giving Medeama an early advantage. Despite Gold Stars’ efforts to find an equalizer, Medeama's resilient defense held firm, ending the first half with a 1-0 lead.
In the second half, Kelvin Nkrumah scored a stunning goal to double Medeama’s advantage, sealing a crucial victory.
