GPL 2023/24: Samartex go top; Kotoko beat Aduana

Samartex moved to the top of the Ghana Premier League table over the weekend following their win over Dreams Football Club.

The Samreboi-based side recorded a 2-0 victory at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena to go above Bofoakwa Tano into first place.

The newly-promoted side continued their unbeaten run once again but failed to pick up all three points playing at home against Bibiani GoldStars.

The draw ensures they are level on the same points as the Timber Giants heading into the next weekend.

Elsewhere at the Baba Yara Stadium, Asante Kotoko picked up their second win of the season as they beat Aduna Football Club.

Kalo Ouattara was the difference maker for the Porcupine Warriors once again, registering his second goal of the 2023/24 campaign.

On their return to the Aliu Maha Sports Stadium, Real Tamale United saw off competition from Karela United to take all three points on Sunday.

RTU scored three goals in the game while their defence allowed two goals in.

The game between Heart of Lions and Hearts of Oak was postponed due to the Akosombo Dam spillage while Medeama's game against DC United in America meant their game against Nsoatreman was also postponed.

Great Olympics will face Accra Lions on Monday at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Here are the results across all match centres:

Kotoko 1-0 Aduana

Bofoakwa Tano 0-0 Bibiani GoldStars

Berekum Chelsea 1-0 Nations FC

Real Tamale United 3-2 Karela United

Legon Cities 1-1 Bechem United

FC Samartex 2-0 Dreams FC
