Great Olympics and Heart of Lions took important steps on Sunday as hopes of surviving relegation were boosted.
The two teams won on the road on matchday 32 of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season, registering wins over Asante Kotoko and Medeama SC.
Olympics were lucky not to have gone behind earlier in the game against the Porcupine Warriors after Steven Mukwala missed from the penalty spot in the 18th minute.
The Accra-based side then made their setpiece count in the 43rd minute as Raymond Oko Grippman scored to make it 1-0 for the visiting team, who went on to pick up all three points.
In Tarkwa, Ebenezer Abban scored a let winner for Lions who defeated Medeama to go 13th on the league table.
Prior to scoring the winner, Abban had missed from the spot after Bashir Hayford's men were awarded a penalty.
In other results, Berekum Chelsea were 2-0 winners over Real Tamale United while Dreams FC also recorded a 1-0 home win over Karela United.
Nsoatreman and Accra Lions played out a 1-1 draw.
