The Chief of Staff and Minister for Presidential Affairs, Mr. Kwadwo Mpiani has said that the testimony of Government's commitment to ensure total development of the youth is by providing them with the requisite facilities and guidance.
The Minister stated this at the opening ceremony of Ministry of Manpower, Youth and Employment's Resource Centre in Accra.
According to him, the resource centre, which was donated to the Ministry by a philanthropist, was to support the work of the Ministry.
He said the ceremony was a demonstration of government's commitment to ensuring that both the National Tripartite Committee and the youth of Ghana are well informed on the issues of employment, labour relationships, law economics statistics and other discipline.
Mr. Mpiani therefore expressed the hope that social partners, as key stakeholders in the work of the Ministry, will also support the Ministry to ensure that the objectives for setting up the centre were achieved.
Hon. Kwadwo Mpaini also encouraged the Ministry to add more reference materials to the centre to enrich knowledge at the centre.
In his welcome address, the Minister for Manpower Youth and Employment, Hon. Abubakar Saddique Boniface stated that the role and status of the Ministry has changed significantly since the assumption of office by the Government of the New Patriotic Party and that the Ministry has not only gained a cabinet status but has also been given an additional responsibilities for the youth.
"We are not resting on our oars, we hope to replicate the same facility at vantage points nationwide to serve the need of our brothers and sisters, our future leaders.
"We therefore count on colleague Ministers especially those involved in National Youth Employment Programme to help nurture and grow this resource centre," he said.
