Government has approved 30 million dollars for the Kumawu Water Project to provide potable water for Kumawu and its surrounding communities in the Sekyere East District of Ashanti.
Mr Yaw Baah, Member of Parliament for Kumawu who announced this when launching his campaign at Kumawu on Wednesday said work on the project would commence soon.
He commended Government for instituting policies and programmes that had improved the living standards of the people.
Mr Baah appealed to the electorate to vote massively for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on December 7 to continue with the socio-economic development of the country.
He advised activists and supporters of the Party to ensure violence free Election 2008.
Mr Owusu Afriyie, NPP Campaign Director in-charge of Northern Sector said, government had promoted sports in the country with the provision of modern stadia and rehabilitation of others.
He appealed to the electorate to vote massively for the Party to win Election 2008.
